From volunteer mornings and associate celebrations to leadership development and skyline views, here’s a look at some of Staff Management’s standout highlights from 2025.
February 19: Volunteering at the Mercer Street Friends Food Bank🥫
Our Hamilton team teamed up with Mercer Street Friends Food Bank for a morning of service. In just 3 hours, the group accomplished their goal of creating 600 food pantry donation bags, providing weekend meals for school-age children.
April 24: Somerset Patriots Partner Networking Event⚾
Two of our team members attended the Somerset Patriots’ Partner Networking Event at TD Bank Ballpark in Bridgewater, enjoying an evening of connection and collaboration with fellow partners. Plus, they got to watch the game, Somerset Patriots vs. Hartford Yard Goats, amongst a great atmosphere, reminding us how powerful local partnerships can be.
June 12: Volunteering at The Salvation Army in Perth Amboy🥪
Nine SMG team members volunteered with The Salvation Army in Perth Amboy for a meaningful morning of service. In just 2 hours, the team surpassed their goal by serving 54 food pantry donation bags filled with fresh produce, frozen meat, canned goods, and more.
July 17: Supervisory Skills Training📚
Several of our Branch Managers and Account Managers took part in a Supervisory Skills training class at Middlesex County College, focused on leadership techniques, communication strategies, and effective team management.
August 6: Corporate FunRun Garden State 5K🏃♂️
Our team hit the pavement at Oak Ridge Park in Clark, NJ for the Corporate FunRun Garden State 5K. From the energy of the course to the post-race celebration, it was another reminder that at SMG, we don’t just show up, we show up for each other.
August 8: Celebrating Our Perth Amboy Associates🍕🍦
We hosted a summer employee appreciation event at our client site in Perth Amboy and served over 250 associates pizza and salad as a thank you for their dedication. We were also joined by our friends at Vald Staffing, who brought ice cream to top it off; appreciation should always come with a treat.
September 8–14: National Staffing Employee Week 2025🌟
We celebrated the Stars of America’s Workforce during National Staffing Employee Week. We recognized 70 outstanding associates with special gift boxes of SMG goodies and a $25 gift card.
Inside each box was also a scratch-off card revealing whether the associate had won one of five grand prizes—cash prizes ranging from $250 to $500. Recognition + a little surprise = a very memorable Staffing Week.
October 5: ASA Thrive Women in Leadership Conference💼🙌
Our upper management team attended the American Staffing Association’s Thrive Women in Leadership Conference in Orlando, FL, celebrating leadership that inspires and elevates others. We also celebrated a major industry moment: Sue Burnett’s induction into the ASA Hall of Fame 2025.
October 23: Client Trunk or Treat in Whippany🎃🍬
We joined one of our incredible clients in Whippany for a festive Trunk or Treat celebration. It was a day filled with costumes, candy, music, and a fun chance to connect with the teams who help drive success all year long.
December 4: Volunteering at the CARE Center’s Food for HOPE Pantry🧺
Four SMG team members from our Dover team volunteered at the CARE Center in Rockaway, NJ, supporting the Food for HOPE Pantry. Our group greeted and checked in visitors, packed food packages, guided guests, and stocked shelves to help ensure smooth distribution that impacts thousands of families annually.
December 6: Holiday Celebration at Sea aboard Horizon’s Edge⚓🎄
Our holiday party was truly one for the books. We set sail from the 14th Street Pier in Hoboken aboard Cornucopia Cruises’ Horizon’s Edge, with private decks, dancing, great food, and stunning views of the NYC skyline.
One of the most unforgettable moments? Cruising close to the Statue of Liberty and watching teammates light up, especially those seeing it up close for the first time.
And of course, raffle prizes like Visa gift cards and extra paid time off brought lots of excitement, too.
Between the music, the photo ops, the skyline under the stars, and this gorgeous ship cruising along the water, it was the perfect way to celebrate an incredible year together.
December 12: Jersey Cares Coat Drive Success🧥
This winter, SMG participated in the Jersey Cares Coat Drive with drop-off hubs in Dover, Paterson, Edison, and Hamilton. With support from our team, associates, clients, and community members, we collected over 70 winter coats to help bring warmth where it’s needed most.
We’re grateful to Jersey Cares and Federal Business Centers for organizing and hosting, and everyone who stopped by just to donate.
These moments reflect what SMG is all about: showing up for our communities, celebrating our people, investing in leadership, and building partnerships that last. Through every milestone, the heart of our company remains the same—people first.
